Resource Scheduling

Multiple resources can be assigned on one job/appointment. When a job is dragged and dropped, all resources that are assigned to that job will also move. If there is a clash for one of the resources, then the job will revert back to the original time to avoid double booking a resource.

There can be an unlimited number of resources. Resources can consist of staff, vehicles, consultants, in fact anything that you wish to create as a resource category.

Summary

A full featured Resource Scheduler is also part of the BusinessMan system. Resources are created within resource categories, such as sales staff, admin staff, engineers, vehicles, meeting rooms, projectors, etc.
Multiple resources from any resource category may be scheduled on any appointments. Scheduler checks to ensure the resource is available before allowing the resource to be added to a schedule. It will NOT allow conflicting schedules to occur. At a glance, it is possible to view the disposition of any resource within the company, thus making the most efficient use of time and saving money.
Scheduler for Windows does not need to have the FileMaker client loaded to run. All it needs is IP connectivity to the server. Thus, it is possible to run Scheduler over a WAN or a VPN with ease. A Scheduler license is provided with each BusinessMan license, although they do not need to be installed on the same PCs. There is a graphical scheduler and diary system included within BusinessMan that reflects any changes made either way, from Scheduler for Windows or from within BusinessMan.

Resource Scheduling Overview

Back at the main menu, we will now look at the Scheduler area of the system. This Scheduler area has more options than your "My Desk" area, as you can display all the resources from any category you wish. You have the choice of a horizontal or vertical view to display these resources. If you have many resources, the horizontal view is probably the most beneficial as you could display hundreds of resources and scroll up and down to view them.

You also have the option of a similar view to that available in your "My Desk" area in that you can select to view by user and you can choose how many days you wish to look ahead. This enables you to view your or any other member of staffs schedule for the future.
