When you start BusinessMan, if there is an update to any of the BusinessMan plug-ins, a notification message will appear on the screen.
When in BusinessMan:
- Goto the Settings menu from the Home screen
- Plug-ins tab
- Click on the download icon on the respective plug-in row
- Make a note of the install path of the respective plug-in
- Save the plug-in to your desktop (or an easily accessible location as we will need it later)
- Close BusinessMan
BusinessMan (and FileMaker) will need to be closed before updating a plugin. This is because the file will be in use when FileMaker is running.
When BusinessMan has been closed:
- Delete the specified plugin from the plugin directory (See Settings in BusienssMan for the plug-in directory)
- Copy the new plug-in file (from your desktop or other location) into the plug-in directory
- Open BusinessMan
- The new plugin will now be installed automatically by BusinessMan on start-up
- BusinessMan and FileMaker will need to be restarted once more to activate the plugin
The new plug-in will now have been installed.
Note: It is still possible to use BusinessMan without installing the new updated plugin, however some functionality may not behave as expected. To continue using BusinessMan without the updated plugin, simply click ignore at the startup when you are prompted to install the new plugin.
